This article reviews Texas family law cases from federal and Texas courts during the Survey period from December 1, 2016 through November 30, 2017. The article excludes cases involving the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, the Texas Office of the Attorney General and county Domestic Relations Offices. The volume of Texas family matter case law increases most years and exceeds the authors’ ability to report on them. Accordingly, the authors have limited review to a few highlight cases and an examination of trends of the past year.
